There are a few airline companies that provide daily frequent flights from Bangkok to the nearby island of Koh Samui or mainland of Surat Thani and Chumphon, followed by a ferry from to Koh Tao.

By Boat

There are two main boat companies (high speed and low speed) servicing Koh Tao daily from the mainland town of Chumphon and Surat Thani, and from the nearby islands of Koh Samui and Koh Phangnan. There are also direct night boats from Surat Thani to Koh Tao.

By Train

There are daily overnight trains From Bangkok's main train station of Hualamphong to the town of Chumphon, followed by a Lomprayah ferry to Koh Tao.

By Bus v.i.p

There are buses departing twice a day from Khao San Road in Bangkok, to Chumphon town, operated by Lomprayah, followed by a connecting ferry to Koh Tao.
